and was able to reduce consumption. Ashokan also switched the rate
structure further reducing payments. Ashokan reduced the annual
bill to $9,800.00.
Result: By using Ashokan’s Automatic Meter Reading
service, Renaissance Studios is saving over $20,000.00 a year in
water and sewer charges.
Lemle & Wolff
Portfolio of 200 mixed use buildings
Description: Multi-family low income residential with retail
space
How AWS Helped: In 2001, Lemle & Wolff was trying to
conform to the DEP regulations with regard to residential buildings
that also have commercial spaces. In order to eliminate possible
fines and surcharges and to qualify these buildings for the DEP’s
Multi Family Conservation Program, they turned to Ashokan. They
were uncomfortable using their general plumber to handle the necessary
paperwork and specialized piping.
Ashokan inspected all the buildings, developed preliminary reports
and installed entire premise and sub meters qualifying the buildings
for reduced rates and giving Lemle & Wolff the control of water
consumption they required.
Result: After using Ashokan’s Water Meter Installation
Department, Lemle & Wolff has reduced rates, eliminated surcharges
and have a comprehensive network of meters and sub meters covering
all water consumption.
Cammeby’s International
301 West 53rd Street, NYC
Description: Luxury tower with 200 apartments and 20,000
sq. ft. retail space
How AWS Helped: In 2001, Cammeby’s annual water and
sewer bill exceeded $237,000.00. The company was paying surcharges
and fines and the commercial tenants were not paying their fair
share of the bill.
Ashokan reduced the annual bill to $94,000.00 and obtained a refund
from the DEP for $174,000.00.
Result: By using
Ashokan’s Bill Auditing service, Cammeby’s is saving
$143,000.00 a year -- in spite of increases in water and sewer charges.
