By combining their skills, the members of the Ashokan staff are able to provide solutions to all our client’s utility auditing and conservation issues.
DOV JACOB VINAR, ESQ.: IN-HOUSE COUNSEL
Dov Jacob Vinar, Esq.: In-House Counsel
Dov joined Ashokan in 1999 and heads up our various utility audit departments. He received his degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1990, and has worked as a litigator in the private sector and in local government.
EMANUEL SHAPIRO, MS: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS RESEARCH
Manny has MS degrees in Applied Math and Operations Research with more than 20+ years of Operations Research experience with ADP (America Data Processing). Since 2003, he has been finding those hidden mathematical errors in your water bills that no one else can find.
GIDON RADICH, EE: CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER
Gidon is the head of the Meter Reading Department. His many years of electrical engineering experience with Motorola are a key asset to understanding your AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) needs. He is responsible for Ashokan’s MIS initiative, which includes the expansion of our Meter Reading Division to allow our clients to obtain real-time data on water consumption.
HERSHEL WEISS, CiPE, MLP, LEED: CHIEF ENGINEER
Hershel brings many years of experience in plumbing and HVAC design to our firm. He is a certified plumbing engineer, as well as a NYC master-licensed plumber. Prior to joining our firm, Hershel was employed by the New York City Housing Development Corporation. Hershel currently heads up the Building Owners & Managers of New York (BOMA/NY) Codes and Regulations Plumbing Committee, is Vice President, Legislation, at the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE - NYC), and he serves on the New York City Plumbing Code Adoption Committee.

NINA WALLIN, LEED AP, ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
Nina is well versed in the entire water management process and serves as the point person for all communication between Ashokan and its clients. With a hands-on approach to operations, Nina is both a LEED AP and a Certified Backflow Device Tester.

RICK SORVILLO: DIRECTOR OF CONSERVATION
Mr. Sorvillo comes to Askokan from the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey where he served for over 30 years in various positions in the Design, Construction and Project Management fields.
His most recent position was Manager of Capital Projects for the Port Authority Trans Hudson (PATH) Rail System. Rick is a Licensed Master Plumber in the City of New York, Past-President of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers - New York City Chapter, and a CPD – Certified in Plumbing Design. He also holds a Master of Science (M.S.) Degree in Energy Management from the New York Institute of Technology, School of Engineering, and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) Degree from Farleigh Dickinson University.
